چکیده
Objective We aimed at testing if a correlation between adverse drug reactions relative risks estimated from meta-analyses and disproportionality analyses calculated pharmacovigilance spontaneous reporting systems databases exist, methodological choices modify this correlation. Study design extracted (ADR) odds ratios (ORs) used as reference corresponding Reporting Odds Ratios (RORs) the WHO database according to five different designs. also bias agreement of ROR compared ORs. Results selected which displayed panel 13 ADRs. A significant for 7 out ADRs studied in primary analysis was found. The methods calculation impacted results but none systematically improved correlations. Whereas found OR ROR, poor important. Conclusion Despite large variation due specification, study provides further evidence that obtained correlate most cases, particular objective ADR not associated with underlying pathology.

BACKGROUND Pharmacovigilance is the "science and activities relating to the detection, assessment, understanding and prevention of adverse effects or any other drug related problems". Nepal joined the international pharmacovigilance programme as a full member in 2007. KIST Medical College, Lalitpur, Nepal joined the national programme as a regional centre from mid-July 2008. Currently, the patt...
متن کاملPharmacovigilance: pharmacists’ perspective on spontaneous adverse drug reaction reporting
Globally, adverse drug reactions (ADRs), one of the leading causes of morbidity and mortality, will continue to pose a threat to public health as long as drugs are being used to treat various ailments. Prompt ADR reporting is crucial in ensuring drug safety. The aim of this narrative review was to highlight the role of pharmacists in pharmacovigilance and to identify barriers and facilitators t...
